CherylAnn Veen, age 69, of Milbank died Thursday, May 21, 2015, at her residence.

CherylAnn VeenFuneral services will be held Tuesday, May 26, at 10:30 a.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Bicknase officiating. Burial will follow in the Milbank City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Monday, May 25, at Mundwiler Funeral Home.

Music will be provided by Tim Mundwiler. Casket bearers will be Dylan Hooth, Blaine Schell, Ethan Mielitz, Karissa Mielitz, Jennifer Schell, and Scott Veen. Honorary bearers include Peyton Schell, Jaxon Heitland, Ryan Heitland, Kara Heitland, and Sam Heitland.

CherylAnn Christine Veen was born on January 18, 1946, in Milbank, SD to Edward William and Delores Mavis (Dornbusch) Carlin. She attended Grant Co. Country School through the eighth grade. CherylAnn grew up in Milbank and remained there for several years after her schooling before moving to Walcott, ND. There she served as restaurant manager of the Walcott Café, “Our Kitchen.” After ten years, in 1987, CherylAnn returned to Milbank. On December 22, 1995, CherylAnn was united in marriage to Martin Veen in Milbank, SD.

CherylAnn enjoyed hunting and fishing with Marty, attending concerts, feeding the birds, and listening to country music. She loved the rodeo, bull riding, and especially enjoyed horses, a love that was formed early in life as CherylAnn grew up riding horses. CherylAnn was a great baker and cook who enjoyed trying out recipes she saw on the cooking channel. The most important thing in CherylAnn’s life was her family and she adored spending time with her family and friends.

Left with her loving memory are her daughters, Kelly Schell of Milbank and Jody Anderson (Kevin Beyer) of Appleton, MN; son, Troy Heitland of Appleton, MN; grandchildren: Jennifer Schell, Blaine Schell (Lindzee Moser), Ethan Mielitz, Karissa Mielitz, Dylan Hooth, and Jaxon Heitland; great-grandson, Peyton Schell; and many other cousins, nieces, nephews, step-children; step-grandchildren; and friends.

CherylAnn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Martin Veen; daughter, JulieAnn; brother, Richard Carlin; and step-son, Carl Heitland.
