Lorraine Schnaser, age 84, of Big Stone City, died Friday, September 25, 2015, at the Golden Living Center in Milbank.

lorraine schnaserFuneral services will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ortonville with Rev. Dennis O’Neill officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery in Ortonville.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, at Mundwiler and Larson Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Wednesday.

Casket bearers will be Bary Keith, Josh Keith, DeRon Brehmer, Todd Brehmer, Brady Keith, and Brandon Keith. Honorary bearers include the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Lorraine Marie Schnaser was born on October 4, 1930, in Ortonville to Arthur and Elizabeth (Mueller) Schellberg. She was baptized on November 2, 1930, in Ortonville by Rev. Bartling and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ortonville on May 26, 1946. Lorraine attended District #2 country school and then Ortonville High School.

On October 13, 1949, Lorraine was united in marriage to Wilton Keith. To this union, three children were born. The couple later divorced and on May 21, 1964, Lorraine married Myron Schnaser at the Lutheran Church in Sisseton. To this marriage, two more children were added to the family.

Primarily a homemaker, Lorraine also held various jobs throughout her life. She was employed in the kitchen of the Big Stone Canning Factory and assisted many individuals throughout the community with housekeeping and running errands. Still, Lorraine spent the majority of her time dedicated to taking care of her family. A selfless woman, Lorraine sacrificed so much for her family and worked various jobs in order to support her children.

Lorraine enjoyed going for walks and especially loved traveling to Mexico and Hawaii on various trips with her husband, Myron. Most important to Lorraine was her family and she cherished every moment spent as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Lorraine was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ortonville. An active member, she raised money for the Lutheran Hour Ministries and participated in the Anna Circle. Lorraine was also a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and raised funds for the Alzheimer’s Walk and Combined Appeal.

Left to cherish Lorraine’s memory are her children: Brenda (Kirk) Neuman of Fairbault, MN; Dennis Schnaser of Big Stone City, SD; Stanley Keith of Little Falls, MN; Sharon (Steve) Remund of Sioux Falls, SD; and Michael Keith (special friend, Julie Erickson) of Milbank; grandchildren: Bary Keith, Shawn Folk, Stacy Keith, Joshua Keith, Dakota Neuman, Kristen Jacobsen, and Kelsey Remund; two sisters, Gladys Brehmer of Sartell, MN and Ardis Brehmer of Ortonville; several great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Myron.
