The Valley Express caught up with Stephanie Pillatzki, Dori Bolstad, and Janel Sandvig just long enough to get them to smile and say, “Cheese.” The trio is busy preparing the new Valley Queen Cheese Store for its opening on Main Street.
The doors will open November 9 and remain open through Christmas Eve. Hours are set for Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sandvig, Pillatzki,and Bolstad will also run the store and plan to participate, along with their fellow merchants, in the Milbank Holiday Open House on Sunday, November 22.
The store will sell its famous one-pound cheese varieties- cheddar, colby jacks, Monterey jack, and a variety of pepper cheeses. Customers will also be able to select from an assortment of cheese gift boxes, cheese sticks, and cutting boards.
To streamline the shopping experience, gift boxes can be shipped via UPS or the Postal Service and orders will be taken over the phone. Call the store at 432-4563 to place your order. Online ordering is in the works for next season.
The newly renovated building has been restored to its original nature in accordance with Valley Queen’ s goal of preserving and reviving historic architecture in downtown Milbank.
