Michael Wojahn

Michael Wojahn, age 61 of Big Stone City died October 23, 2015, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 28 at 11 a.m. at American Lutheran Church in Milbank. Rev. Carl Larson will officiate and burial will be in the Milbank City Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 27, from 5 – 7 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank. Visitation will continue at the church on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service.

Michael Wojahn was born May 31, 1954, in Milbank, SD. He was the son of Rolland and Grace (Hagedorn) Wojahn. He grew up in the Milbank area and attended Milbank High School. He was united in marriage with Lori Fryer on December 13, 1985, in Milbank.

After high school Michael lived in Wyoming for a short time and worked in the uranium mines. He then returned to Milbank and worked at Dakota Granite for 28 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and treasured his grandchildren. He also liked to hunt deer and antelope and enjoyed fishing on Big Stone Lake.

Left to cherish his memory are his children and grandchildren: Nicole (Anthony) Hillman and their son, Brenden Wojahn; Jason (Crystal) Wojahn and their children: Elizabeth, Brayden, Jackson, Isabella, Gabriella, and Madison; brothers: Larry (Pam) Wojahn of Big Stone City, SD; Neil (Lila) Wojahn of Milbank, SD; Stan (Doris) Wojahn of Camino, CA; Lowell (Elizabeth) Wojahn of Dayton, MN; Gary Wojahn of Watertown, SD; sisters: Wanda Elvecrog of Ortonville, MN and Marian (Bill) Meyers of Clearwater, MN; brother-in-law, Harlan Wick of WI; and sister-in-law, Linda Wojahn of Milbank, SD. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Steve and Calvin; and one sister, Elaine.
