Lady Bulldogs enter Consolation Round at State Tournament

The Milbank Area Lady Bulldogs suffered a tough 3-0 loss to defending State A champion Sioux Falls Christian in the opening round of the state tournament Thursday at the Denny Sanford
Premier Center in Sioux Falls. Milbank Area lost by scores of 25-15, 25-18 and 25-10. The Chargers have won the state title four of the past five years.

Rachelle Gabriel and Caryssa Mielitz led the locals with four kills and one block each. Mielitz added two assists, one ace and five digs. Mikaela Hoeke tallied eight assists, two kills and
three digs while Mackayla Schuelke added four assists, one kill, and seven digs. Katie Cannedy contributed three kills, one assist and three digs, and Molly Rick had one kill and five digs.
Rounding out the team totals were Madi Schulte with six digs, and Alexis Folk, one block.
