This Christmas, be an angel. It’s easy with the Angel Tree project sponsored by the Grant County Christian Service Council and Inter-Lakes Community Action.

Only angels can keep 190 local children from having their Christmas dreams dashed. Here’s what you do:

1. Visit Wells Fargo Bank and select a name from the Angel Tree in their lobby.
2. Purchase an outfit and a toy.
3. Wrap and return by December 16.
4. Enjoy the holidays even more knowing every child will find a present under the tree.

Great Western Bank and First Bank and Trust also have Angel Trees. The children on their trees have all been selected, but they are still waiting for gifts to be brought in. If you decided to be an angel, don’t forget to wrap and bring them in by Wednesday, December 16.

Santa (aka the Northern Lights 4-H Club) will pick up the gifts and deliver them to the Milbank Visitor Center for a special Angel Tree event on Monday, December 21 from 1 to 7 p.m.

This year’s event will include a special treat. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be stopping by and VPD Studio will be snapping photos between 3 and 6 p.m. “This is the first year doing Santa photos for the Angel Tree families,” said ICAP community service worker Heather Rise. “I am so thankful for the generous community of Milbank and the Christian Service Council for their phenomenal work.”

Now go. Be an angel.

If you are unable to participate in the project, but would like to make a donation, please contact Heather at ICAP at 432-6571.
