_DSC0019The Milbank Area Lady Bulldogs secured a second place finish at the Britton-Hecla Invitational gymnastics meet held Monday, December 21. Milbank Area tallied 126 points, just 5.05 points behind Britton-Hecla, who won its home event.

Rounding out the team totals were Deuel, 121.95; Sisseton, 118.85; Aberdeen Central junior varsity, 99.65, and Watertown junior varsity, 96.70.
Junior Brooke Fraasch set the pace for the Lady Bulldogs with a fifth place finish in the all-around competition. Also competing in all four events were Jodi DeVaal and Christina Lusk. The top eight competitors in each event received medals.

Fraasch also placed fourth on the uneven parallel bars and fifth on the floor exercise. Senior Natalie Stohr was the top finisher in the vault competition with a score of 8.95. She also placed fifth on bars. Emma VanVooren landed in eighth place on bars and fifth on the balance beam while Emily Dornbusch placed fourth on beam.

Milbank will travel to Vermillion Wednesday, December 30, for the Winter Wonderland meet and will wrap up its Christmas vacation with a meet in Sisseton Saturday, January 2.
