Grace Kramer

Grace Kramer, age 94 of Wilmot died December 30, 2015, at the Wilmot Care Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wilmot. Father Gary DeRouchey will officiate and burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen.

Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday, one hour prior to the Mass.

Casket bearers will be: Rod Johnson, Steve Johnson, Gary Dunwoody, Jeff Rose, Dennis Greiner, and Brent Buffington.

Grace Vera (Dunwoody) Kramer was born September 7, 1921, in Claremont, SD. She was the daughter of Isaac E. and Martha (Blauel) Dunwoody. Grace was united in marriage with Clements S. “Skeats” Kramer on November 4, 1939, in Sioux Falls, SD.

Together Grace and Clements farmed in the Stratford, SD area. They also owned and operated a grocery store in Stratford. Grace was the Postmistress in Stratford for many years. They retired and moved to a fishing cabin on Big Stone Lake. They later built a lake home and enjoyed the lake and fishing.

Clements died November 28, 1992. Grace moved into Wilmot and resided there until her death. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards with friends and family members. She liked to embroider. She especially loved dogs and enjoyed their companionship.

Left to cherish her memory are two brothers: Ralph (Elizabeth) Dunwoody of Sioux Falls, SD; and Gene (Dixie) Buffington of Sioux Falls, SD; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Duane; three brothers and three sisters.
