mast-downton-s4-series-icon-hires (2)The Grant County Public Library is pleased to announce it will host “Afternoon Tea with Downton Abbey” on Wednesday afternoons at 12:30 p.m.

“Whether you are a Downton Abbey enthusiast who has seen every episode or are one of the few not knowing what all the hype is about, this is a great opportunity for a fun community gathering at the library,” stated library director Jody Carlson.

Each week, beginning Wednesday, January 13, the library will show two episodes of the popular PBS television series, Downton Abbey, starting with Season 1, Episode 1. “Royal refreshments will be served between the episodes,” noted Carlson. No registration is required. All are welcome to attend.

The series first aired in January of 2011 and became an unexpected success. The show begins with the 1912 sinking of the Titanic, leaving Downton Abbey’s future in jeopardy since the male heirs of Robert, Earl of Grantham, die in the catastrophe. The drama follows the lives of the Crawley family and its servants.

Soon watchers were anxiously awaiting the next episode and season. “The sixth and final season is now being aired on TV,” explained Carlson. “It’s not too late to get started with the Downton Abbey series. Join the fun at the Grant County Library.”
