Kylee and Katie Mogen, members of the Shooting Stars 4-H Club in Milbank, are putting their creativity to use in the 4-H sewing club... Mogen Sisters Quilt With 4-H Program

mogen_sistersKylee and Katie Mogen, members of the Shooting Stars 4-H Club in Milbank, are putting their creativity to use in the 4-H sewing club through Grant County 4-H. Kylee is working on the quilt block challenge as part of a community service project.

The challenge is a new event, added to the 2016 Grant County Farm and Home Show. The Farm and Home Show will take place Friday and Saturday, January 15-16 at the Milbank Armory. “I encourage all sewers to take part in the challenge by picking up your sewing blocks at the quilting booth,” said Kylee.

Katie is working on a barn quilt which she is painting for her aunt, who plans to hang it on her mini barn. Katie is enjoying the barn quilt project, not only because she loves to paint, but more importantly, because she hopes to see more barn quilts in Grant County to help promote tourism, agriculture, and strong community bonds.

Stop out to see the quilts on display at the Farm and Home Show this weekend.
