Janette Lamberton

Janette Lamberton, age 77, of Big Stone City passed away January 19, 2016, at the Grace Home in Graceville, MN.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Ortonville. Brent Olson will officiate.

Visitation will be at the church, one hour prior to the service.

Janette H. (Engstrom) Lamberton was born November 11, 1938, in Waubay, SD. She was the daughter of Conrad and Louise (Karnopp) Engstrom. She grew up in the Waubay area and graduated high school in 1956 at Valley Springs, SD. She was united in marriage with Dale Lamberton at Valley Springs.

Dale was employed with the Department of Fish and Wildlife Services. The family lived at numerous fish hatcheries including Spearfish, SD and Valley City, ND.

Janette was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Ortonville. She was a passionate member of the church choir. She adored and treasured her grandchildren.

Janette is survived by her two children: David (Lisa) Lamberton of Sioux City, IA; Janelle John of West Fargo, ND; seven grandchildren; two brothers: Erling Engstrom of Brookings, SD; Arthur Engstrom of Big Stone City, SD; her beloved Ozzie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Conrad and Louise Engstrom; husband, Dale Lamberton; infant daughter, Helen; her favorite son-in-law, Bruce John; siblings: Leone Sparano, Conrad Engstrom Jr., Mary Engstrom Anderson, and Donna Lou Engstrom.
