The Milbank debate team traveled to Yankton Friday and Saturday, January 29 and 30, and took part in the Lewis and Clark tournament.
With an unusually small team, just five students represented Milbank. Senior Rebekah Tuchscherer led the team with a fourth place finish in Drama and a 3-2 record in Lincoln-Douglas debate. Macie Redmond finished 2-for-3 in Public Forum and also competed in Original Oratory. “Macie did exceptional in Public Forum,” stated Milbank head coach Natasha Hartman. “She competed alone in the partner debate because her partner became ill.”
Shawn Stemsrud competed in Extemp and Lincoln-Douglas, finishing 2-for-3 overall. Cat Rego took part in Drama and Public Forum while Nathan Loutsch competed in Extemp and Public Forum. Both Rego and Loutsch went 2-for-3 in their debate events.
