Bulldog Grapplers Battle In Day One Of State Tournament

The Milbank Bulldog grapplers battled throughout each match in the opening day of the State Class A high school wrestling tournament in Rapid City Friday, February 26. In the double elimination tournament, Milbank finished the day with one wrestler still standing. Jake Anderson went 2­1 on the day and advanced to the placing round Saturday. Cole Dockter and Riley Folk also secured one win in the first round wrestlebacks before being eliminated in the second round wrestlebacks Friday night.

“We competed hard and that’s all you can ask,” said Milbank head coach Jeremy Tostenson. “I am proud of the way our guys work and represent Milbank.” Two seniors wrapped up their high school wrestling career Friday for Milbank. Chris Loutsch and Jordan Pollock both ended solid careers and will be missed next year.

160 ­ Cole Dockter fell 10­5 to Dante Colicheski, Rapid City Stevens; won by fall over TJ Schaefer, Sioux Falls O’Gorman, 1:34; lost 9­5 to Nick Wiebe, Pierre.
182 ­ Chris Loutsch fell 5­1 to Logan Warzecha, Harrisburg; fell by 15­6 major decision to Cole Leighton, Madison.
195 ­ Riley Folk lost by fall to Nate Guthmiller, Madison, 4:27; won 4­3 over Sam Detert, Harrisburg; fell 6­2 to Levi Stoltenburg, Pierre.
