Agnes Edison

Agnes Edison, 96, of Mesa, Arizona, previously of Ortonville, died on April 19, 2016.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 28, at Mundwiler and Larson Funeral Home of Ortonville from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Father Brian Oestreich will lead a prayer service at 12:45 p.m. followed by burial in Mound Cemetery.

Agnes Marie Novak Edison was born on January 23, 1920, in Holloway, Minnesota to John and Mary Novak. She attended school through the sixth grade. She was united in marriage with Fred Kohler in 1937. Fred died in 1994.

Agnes lived in Ortonville from 1950 – 1965, at which time her family moved to Golden Valley, Minnesota. In 1967, Agnes married Ernest Edison. They remained in Golden Valley until they moved to Mesa, Arizona in 1994. Agnes retired from Sears in 1980, after working 18 years as a sales clerk. In her free time, Agnes enjoyed fishing and camping.

Left with her loving memory are her children: Gene Kohler of Minneapolis, MN; Ron Kohler of Hibbing, MN; Betty Block of Bozeman, MT; Marilyn Scherer of New Hope, MN: and Karen Vogel of Mesa, AZ; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; stepson, Steve Edison of Seattle, WA; stepdaughter, Dianne Nelson of Milnar, ND; and sisters: Delores Mueller and Anne Schmidt, both of Appleton, MN.

Agnes was preceded in death by both husbands; her brothers, Pat and Bill; and her sister, Sophie Malone.
