Several hundred people crowded into the Milbank Armory on Sunday, May 22, to see 70 members of the Class of 2016 say good bye to their alma mater and hello to the future.  The 122nd class to graduate from MHS was ushered in to the tune of “Pomp and Circumstance” played by the MHS band, under the direction of Susan Karels.  Superintendent Tim Graf presided over the commencement ceremony and Principal Dan Snaza presented the students for their diplomas. Graduates were greeted on stage by School Board President Dick Schwandt. All three are alumni of Milbank High School.

Heidi Bergquist and Chris Loutsch were chosen by the graduates to address their fellow classmates and guests. Both speeches hearkened to the possibilities that lie in the future and reflected on the Class of 2016’s journey.  These themes were echoed in the musical selection from “Oceans and Stars”, performed by the MHS Choir under the direction of Miriam Schwenn.
