_DSC0293 (1)The Milbank Firechiefs amateur baseball team improved its record to 7-2 with a 8-4 victory over Webster June 8, on the road. Reil earned the win on the mound for Milbank. He struck out one batter and allowed six hits, four runs, and three walks. Lance Frogner came in as relief and earned the save. He sat down seven batters and gave up five hits and two walks.

Milbank trailed early at 3-2 after three innings of play. The Chiefs plated three runs in the fourth to take the advantage at 5-3. Milbank added three more runs in the sixth and held on for the win.

The locals scored eight runs on six hits and had 15 walks and four RBIs. Ryan Conrad led the Chiefs offensive attack with two hits (including a triple) and three runs. Ronnie Krause connected for two hits and Tony Hofman and Matt Stephan added one hit, one run, and one RBI each. Jesse Krause scored two runs for the Chiefs and tallied four walks and one RBI. Taylor Boerger added one RBI and Tyler Reil plated one run.

Milbank was scheduled to host Castlewood Sunday, June 12, at Legion Field, but the contest was postponed because of rain. No reschedule date has been set. The Firechiefs will host Aurora Wednesday, June 15, at 8 p.m.
