courthousespring (1)The Grant County Commissioners met for their regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday, November 1 at the Milbank Courthouse. Liquor license renewals were approved for Pine Hills Golf Club, Gertje Van Lith Post 229 (the Big Stone Legion), and Bittersweet Lodge.

Items approved on the consent agenda included: Vicki O’Donnell as a matron at a rate of $15.65 per hour effective 10-18-16; a wage increase for Eric Mueller to 1-year step at $17.00 per hour effective 10-12-16; a wage increase for Ken Brotzel to 1-year step at $16.35 per hour effective 10-2-16; and a wage increase for Scott O’Donnell to 1-year step at $13.90 per hour. The board also approved a storm shelter change order 1 to move completion date to 8-15-2017 and a declaration of a HPC4280 copier/printer and extension inventory as surplus. The items will be discarded.

Another issue on the agenda was the Drainage Board. A permit was presented for Wayne Loeschke, along with owner Tyler Adelman, but tabled until the November 15 meeting.

Notice was received of Val Cameron’s resignation as an alternate on the Planning and Zoning board. The commissioners will assign her replacement. The item was put on the agenda for the November 15 meeting. Sara Koepke, 4-H Advisor, gave an update on her program and her attendance at the national conference.

The next regular meeting of the commissioners is scheduled for November 10 when the board will canvas the election.
