Valerie J. Swint

Valerie J. Swint, 61, died on May 19, 2017, at Fair Way View Communities.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, May 24, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Mundwiler and Larson Funeral Chapel in Ortonville.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Rev. David Tonn will officiate. A private burial will take place at a later date.

Valerie Jean Swint was born on May 19, 1956, to Morris “Bud” and Donna (Tate) Baerwaldt in Graceville, Minnesota. Growing up in Ortonville, Minnesota, she graduated from Ortonville High School in 1974. She also attended Moorhead State University. On July 25, 2003, Val was united in marriage with Robert Swint, Jr. in Ortonville.

Val was formerly employed as an STNA at Northridge. She also had an extensive history of waitressing, especially years ago at Mister Bud’s, her father’s drive in. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church. Hobbies included shopping, walking, and exercise. Val loved her pets and the time she spent with them.

Val is survived by her husband, Robert, of Ortonville; her children: Keegan Stock of Rapid City, SD; Caitlin Stock of Burnsville, MN; and Bryn (Kelsey) Stock of Aberdeen, SD; mother, Donna Baerwaldt of Ortonville; and brothers: Robin (Violet) Baerwaldt of Big Stone City, SD; Randy (Deb) Baerwaldt of Bowling Green, OH; and Brian Baerwaldt of Ortonville, MN. She was preceded in death by her father, Morris.
