Milbank American Legion Post 9 secured two baseball wins over Sisseton Tuesday, June 6, on the road. The locals improved their season record to 6-1.

Milbank won the opening game by a score of 9-1. Dylan Johnson earned the win on the mound for Post 9. He struck out three batters and allowed four hits, one run and one walk.

A well-rounded offensive attack resulted in the victory for Milbank. Jonny Ash belted out two hits, one run, one walk and six RBIs to start the lineup. Johnson had two walks which resulted in two runs and had two RBIs. Tanner Bock contributed two hits, while Gage Sayler added two hits, one run and a walk. Kacen Huber tallied one hit, one run and two walks, and Gabe DeLarosa added one hit, two runs and two walks to the team totals.

Rounding out the numbers for Milbank were Dom Boerger, one RBI; Mitch Quade, one walk, one run and two RBIs, and Tate Stricherz, one run and one RBI.

In the second game, Milbank cruised to a 15-0 victory. The locals scored their 15 runs on 13 hits and five walks.

Ash sparked the team with two hits, including a home run, two runs and two RBIs. Boerger fired out four hits, two runs and three RBIs while Quade had two hits, two runs, two RBIs and a walk on the night. Bock followed with two hits, one run and three RBIs. Johnson chipped in with one hit, four runs and two walks, and Stricherz had one hit, one run and two RBIs to his credit.

Also adding to the team offense for Post 9 were Sayler, one run and one walk; Huber, one hit, one run and one RBI, and DeLarosa, one run and one walk.

Quade earned the pitching win by going the distance. He sat down 10 batters and allowed just one hit and two walks.
