The Milbank Firechiefs amateur baseball team evened their season record to 3-3 with a 4-1 victory over Clear Lake Sunday, June 11, on the road.
Milbank got out to a solid start with a 3-0 lead after the first three innings of play. After a three inning drought by both teams, Clear Lake found home plate for a lone run in the seventh to cut the advantage to 3-1. The Chiefs quickly answered with another run in the eighth inning to secure the win.

Milbank scored its four runs on eight hits. Tristan Hall led the locals with three hits, including a homer, two runs, one RBI and a stolen base. Brock Gomer followed with two hits, one run and a walk. Ronnie Krause added two hits and a walk while Lancer Frogner chipped in with one hit and one run.

Taylor Boerger earned the win on the mound for the Firechiefs. He went the distance for the locals and struck out 14 batters. He gave up five hits, one run and two walks in the contest.

Milbank was scheduled to host Aurora Sunday, June 18, but the opponent could not field a complete team. The Firechiefs will travel to Volga Sunday, June 25, for doubleheader action beginning at 2 p.m.
