The Milbank VFW Teener baseball team split contests with Sisseton Tuesday, June 20, on its home field. Milbank won the first game 17-8, but dropped a close 8-6 contest in the nightcap.

Milbank used two big innings to get the job done. The locals scored seven runs in the second inning to take charge at 7-1. Sisseton came back with five runs in the third to cut the deficit 7-6. The Teeners then belted in six runs in the fourth inning to extend their advantage to 13-8 and added four more runs in the fifth to finish off the victory.

Milbank scored its 17 runs on 16 hits. Keaton Benson led the team with three hits and two runs. Tate Stricherz, Sam Seffrood and Zippy Bock added two hits and three runs each. Brady Femling contributed two hits and two runs. Adding to the totals for the Teeners was Mike Karges, one hit and two runs; Brodie Holtquist and Noah Steinlicht, one hit and one run, and Jake Fox, two hits.

Milbank suffered an 8-6 loss in the second game of the night. Sisseton started off hot with a 8-0 lead after the first three innings. Milbank answered with six innings in the fifth, but it was not enough to overcome the deficit.

Karges led the team with two hits and one run. Stricherz, Holtquist, Seffrood and Kacen Huber followed with one hit and one run, and Riley Gauer with one run.
