Excavator Causes Gas Leak

The Milbank Fire and Rescue Department responded to a call of a gas leak at approximately 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 29. The leak occurred at the home of Jason and Amber Wellnitz in Henze Addition in Milbank.

According to Assistant Fire Chief David Giesen, work was being done digging in egress windows when an excavator hit the gas line. The fire department secured the area. They remained on the scene until Northwestern Energy of Clear Lake arrived to fix the line.
