The Grant County Pheasants Forever donated 10 cases of shells to the youth trap shooting program at the Milbank Trap Range. The youth program holds weekly open shootings and will use the shells for practice.

Funds for this donation and others like it are raised during the annual Grant County Pheasants Forever banquet. This year, the banquet is Saturday, September 9, at the Big Stone Legion. Emcees are GCPF President Dave Gonzenbach and former president Darin Mertens. “Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend,” said Gonzenbach.

Pheasants Forever is dedicated to the conservation of pheasants, quail, and other wildlife through habitat improvements, public awareness, education, and land management policies and programs. The local group also places an emphasis on youth programs. “This donation of shells fits like a glove with what we are all about,” stated GCPF President Dave Gonzenbach.

GCPF members with the youth are: (l. to r.) Brandon Lee, Mark Lee, Dave Gonzenbach, Darin Mertens, Dan Bogenreif, and Pat Blauert.
