Two Bulldog golfers shot their personal best 18-hole score to lead Milbank to a fourth place team finish at the Pheasant Invitational at Fisher Grove Country Club in Redfield Tuesday, September 12.

Senior Isaac Nolz fired in an 86 and bettered his top score by nine strokes. Junior Conner VanVooren shot his personal low in a tournament with an 80. He finished in sixth place overall in the individual standings.

“I was again very pleased with how the boys played,” expressed Bulldog head golf coach Mark Keeton. “As a team, we scored a season low of 366 with our number one golfer absent. The boys are definitely moving in the right direction.”

Milbank’s 366 was good enough for 4th place in the team standings. Aberdeen Roncalli won the meet with a 309. Sisseton followed in second with a 311, and Sioux Valley took third place with a 346. Rounding out the team scores were Redfield-Doland, 381; Groton, 403, and Tiospa Zina, 440.
Also competing for the Dawgs were Gage Sayler, 99; Logan Meyer, 101; Noah Pillatzki, 105, and Chase Pinkert, 134.

Milbank has two regular season meets remaining on their schedule before battling it out for state qualifiers in the Region 1A meet in Dell Rapids on Monday, September 25.
