Funeral services for Delores will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at American Lutheran Church in Milbank with Pastor Carl Larson officiating. Burial will follow in the Milbank City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Delores Elvera Erickson was born May 8, 1925 in La Bolt, SD, the daughter of Elmer and Aleda (Nordquist) Erickson. Delores grew up in the La Bolt area and attended Vernon #3 school from 1931 to 1939. She eventually moved to Milbank and married Eldon I. Aden in 1948. Delores and Eldon were blessed with two children, Allen and Diana. Delores farmed with her husband near South Shore, SD from 1948 until 1962, then moved to Watertown in 1963, Aberdeen in 1966 and then settled in Sisseton in 1976 where she managed a seven unit apartment building from 1976 to 2001.

Delores was an active member of both Grace Lutheran Church and the Ladies Auxiliary Post #3342. She also enjoyed managing her apartments, gardening, decorating her apartment and coin collecting. In 2001, she moved to the Senior Living Center in Watertown, SD and resided there until 2016, when she moved to the Southridge Nursing Home in Sioux Falls and resided there until her death.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Allen (Fran) of Gettysburg, SD; Diana (Don) Mangels of Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren: Alisa (Chad) Grismer of Maple Grove, MN; Hilary (Martyn) Aden Beeny of Ithaca, NY; Christopher (Rhiannon) Gesler of Brookfield, CT; and Andrew (Nell) Gesler of Portland, ME; seven great grandchildren; siblings: Evelyn Bork of Watertown, SD; Elaine Dohrer of Aberdeen, SD; Roger Erickson of Nebraska.

Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon Aden, parents, and siblings: Arlene Selgeby, Ellen Erickson, Marion Erickson, Gladys Meister, Wanda Lowitz, James Erickson, Virgil Erickson, and Elmer Erickson Jr.
