Eighteen Milbank Middle School band students were selected to participate in the Eastern Dakota Junior Music Festival. The culminating concert was held October 10, at the Estelline School.

Selected to represent Milbank were seventh grade students Luis Berrones (bass clarinet) and Max Lightfield (percussion). Eighth grade students included Maiah Brown (flute), Peyton Gengler (flute), Madison Mathews (flute), Taryn Dusky (clarinet), Alexis Ninneman (clarinet), Savannah Stengel (clarinet), Hattie Muellenbach (alto sax), Natalie Meyer (alto sax), Isaac Schulte (trumpet), Isaac Sousa (trumpet), Cole Brown (french horn), Hailey Hupke (trombone), Bennett Schwenn (trombone), Karson Weber (euphonium), William Karels (tuba), and Jack Sandvig (percussion). The students were accompanied by Susan Karels, Milbank Middle/High School band director.

The Junior Music Festival includes band students from other northeast South Dakota schools. Gary Pederson, band director at Sioux Falls Patrick Henry Middle School, was the guest conductor.
