Speakers from MHS earned the Team Excellence Award at the State Class A Oral Interpretation Festival at Central High School in Aberdeen December 1-2. The Team Excellence Award is presented to schools who receive at least two superiors and demonstrate high levels of performance at the State Festival.

Milbank students earned four superiors at the two-day event. A superior rating was presented to the Reader’s Theatre team of Peyten Wiese, Rebecca Loehrer, Landon Brown, Hope Osborn, and Devon Balling for their presentation of How to Getta Good.

Hope Osborn received a superior with distinction in the Serious Reading division with Mockingbird.

Lars Andersen earned a superior in non-original oratory with Wisdom of a Third Grade Dropout. He also teamed up with Nathan Loutsch in the duet division and the duo earned a superior with No Signs of Intelligent Life.

Also competing for Milbank were Devon Balling in poetry, Heidi Capp in Humorous Reading, and Hope Osborn in Storytelling.
The state festival completes the oral interpretation season for 2017-2018.
