The Second Annual Winter Wonderland Festival was hosted by the Milbank Area Chamber of Commerce on Saturday, December 9. Trolley rides downtown delighted the crowd before spectators lined Main Street for the Parade of Lights.

Lewis Family Drug took first place in the parade. Second place went to Chris Giesen from Norm’s Auto and Truck Repair, and David Giesen of Dakota Valley Trucking took third. Chris Giesen also won the People’s Choice award. The winners received $100, $75, and $50 in Ol’ Mill Bucks, respectively. Chris Giesen won an extra $100 in Ol’ Mill Bucks as the People’s Choice winner.

In the storefront decorating contest, Zem’s Furniture took first place. Second place went to Markve Insurance Solutions, and third place went to Midland Publishing.

The Chamber also hosted indoor events at Speedway Event Center: a free-will donation meal, cookie decorating, a photo booth and photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and the 2018 Miss Milbank, Katie Vander Wal. The evening ended with Turkey Bingo.

“The Second Annual Winter Wonderland Festival was definitely a success,” stated Milbank Area Chamber Events Director Laura Kelly. “I was thrilled to see that not only was the participation in the Lighted Parade up, but the crowd was bigger as well. I look forward to this event growing bigger and better every year!”
