Jane Wise Roehr was born on July 12, 1948, in Milbank, SD.  She was the only child of Carl and Vilas (Bracht) Wise.  Jane grew up in Milbank and graduated from Milbank High School with the Class of 1966.  She continued her education at Northern State College in Aberdeen, SD.  She earned a degree in elementary education and began teaching second grade in Willmar, MN.  Jane taught school for several years before returning to Milbank to continue her teaching career.

Jane was united in marriage with Ron Roehr on June 26, 1976, in Milbank.  They made their home in Milbank and were blessed with a daughter, Alison.

Jane had a strong faith and was devoted to service at Central United Methodist Church. Jane made everyone feel special with her welcoming heart, engaging personality and infectious laugh. She truly had a zest for life.  She enjoyed entertaining and loved to cook. She was always trying new recipes and never let you leave her home hungry. She was proud of her Milbank roots and would boast about her home city to anyone who would listen. That pride and joy carried through to the love and care of her home.  Most important to Jane was her family. Jane treasured the time she and Ron spent with Alison, Jeff and her two exceptional grandsons.

Jane is survived by her husband, Ron Roehr of Milbank; daughter and son-in-law: Alison and Jeff Stogsdill of Chicago, IL; and two grandsons: Graham and Finn.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Vilas.
