The Milbank Area Bulldogs dominated the Webster Bearcats, 78-49, on Webster’s home court December 21. The Dawgs evened their season record at 2-2.

Milbank took charge of the game from the start and led 21-8 after the opening quarter of play. The Dawgs continued to perform at both ends of the court to widen the margin 42-19 at halftime.

Webster came back in the third quarter to outscore the Bulldogs 17-10, but Milbank remained in control at 52-36 heading into the final stanza. The Dawgs poured in 26 points in the fourth quarter to take a commanding 78-49 victory.

Jonny Ash led the Bulldogs with 19 points. Jake Fox followed with 16 points, three rebounds, and one assist. Max McCulloch tallied eight points and seven boards. James Weber added seven points.

Also contributing to the totals for Milbank Area were: Jordan Riley, six points, two rebounds, one assist; Tate Stricherz, six points, two rebounds; Derrick Aho, four points, four rebounds, one assist; Preston Morton, four points; Braden Brandriet, three points; Mason Riley, three points; Mitch Quade, two points, three rebounds, two assists; and Will Cummins, one rebound.

The Bulldogs executed on 29-of-60 attempts from the field for 48 percent shooting. They chalked up 22 rebounds and five assists and committed just two turnovers.

Webster hit 29 percent of their shots from the field – 16 of 56 attempts. The Bearcats had 27 rebounds, 10 steals, and four assists. They turned over the ball 12 times.

Milbank hosts Breckenridge, Minnesota, Saturday, December 30, in the final game of the State Farm-S&D One Stop Basketball Shootout at the Milbank Armory. The Bulldogs’ tipoff is approximately 6:30 p.m.
