Urban T. Stolpman, 97, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 29, 2017 in Kerrville, Texas.  He was born on Oct. 10, 1920 in Rosen, MN to the late Theresa (Voight) and John Stoplman.

He attended and received a degree from St. John’s University (1938-1942) and then joined the US Navy. Urban was stationed in Memphis, San Diego and the Great Lakes.

Urban married the love of his life, Lucille Loehrer on July 14, 1948 in Rosen, MN.  They lived most of their married life in Ortonville, MN moving to Kerrville in 2014. The couple owned a Drive-In Movie Theater from 1950-1955 in Big Stone City, SD.  They were a unique couple because they never fought; the only disagreement was over a house Urban was building and she wanted a pantry to go in a certain spot and he told her no because the customer would hit their head on the door but Lucille insisted. Their sons want it to be known how wonderful of parents they were and the best ones any child could ask for.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lucille (April 2017) and their son, David Stolpman (Dec. 2014).

He is survived by his sons, Todd Stolpman and wife Monique of Eagan, MN and Rick Stolpman of Kerrville, Texas; grandchildren, Drew, Alexa and Jack. He will be loved and missed by many other family members and dear friends.

Graveside service for Mr. Stolpman will be at Mound Cemetery, Ortonville, MN in the spring of 2018.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Alzheimer Organization (www.alz.org).
