The Milbank Bulldogs defeated Elk-Point Jefferson 54-51 in the Northeast Conference/Dak 12 Conference Basketball Clash January 27, in Madison. Jonny Ash sparked the team with 18 points, three rebounds, one assist, and one steal. Jake Fox tallied eight points, eight rebounds, one assist, and one blocked shot. Jordan Riley contributed seven points, four boards, one assist, and one steal. Derrick Aho added six points, three rebounds, and two assists for the Dawgs.

Elk Point-Jefferson held a one-point lead at 10-9 after the opening quarter. Milbank took the lead at 23-22 at the midway mark. Both teams fired in 17 points each in the third quarter, keeping the Dawgs ahead by one point at 40-39 heading into the final stanza. Milbank held on for the three point victory at 54-51.

Also adding to the totals for the Bulldogs were Preston Morton, five points and five rebounds; Mac McCulloch, five points, three rebounds, and four assists; Mitch Quade, three points, three rebounds, and one assist; Braden Brandriet, two points and one steal; and James Weber, two rebounds.

Milbank hit 19-of-51 from the field for 37 percent shooting. The Bulldogs netted 38 rebounds, 10 assists, seven steals, and one blocked shot. They committed nine turnovers. With the victory, the Dawgs evened their season record at 7-7.

Elk Point-Jefferson made 40 percent of their shots from the field – 19 of 47 attempts. They grabbed 30 rebounds and nine steals, and made four assists. They turned over the ball eight times.
