New Doctor and Psychologist Joining Avera Milbank

Avera Medical Group Milbank announces James Bailey, MD, a family medicine physician, will join the clinic in February. In addition, his wife, Wendy Bailey, PhD, will also join the staff as a psychologist in summer 2018. Their five children also will relocate to the Milbank area this summer.

Dr. Bailey has special interests in obstetrics, pediatrics, and adult medicine and provides medical care for patients of all ages. He has extensive experience in hospital and critical care medicine. He holds a medical degree from Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta. He completed residency at Georgia Baptist Medical Center/Department of Family Medicine, and also took part in a faculty development fellowship at Morehouse School of Medicine.

Wendy Bailey, PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist and earned her doctoral degree at Emory University in Atlanta. She will see patients of all ages.
“Wendy and I are excited to join the health care team in Milbank, and we look forward to making it our home,” Dr. James Bailey said. “Avera Medical Group Milbank provides quality health care, and we’re looking forward to helping them in this effort, getting to know our patients, and becoming a part of the community.”

Milbank Area Hospital Avera Administrator Natalie Gauer said this is a unique situation where we get to welcome two doctors at one time. “We are pleased to be able to expand our services as Dr. James and Dr. Wendy join our clinic. We are fortunate to have these two high-caliber doctors join our medical community,” she said. “We look forward to welcoming them both and to helping their family make their home with us.”
