Kay Wollschlager, age 81 of Milbank died February 2, 2018, at St. William’s Care Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 8 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Milbank. Father Gary DeRouchey will officiate and burial will be in the St. James Cemetery, Nassau, MN. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home. A prayer vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Thursday, one hour prior to the Mass.

Musicians will be: Bobbi Jo Meyer, Soloist, Nancy Johnson, Organist, and the St. Lawrence Funeral Choir.

Casket bearers will be a grandchild from each child’s family: Jessica Hanson, Chris Fayville, Lucas Loeschke, Josh Sime, Derek Wollschlager, Adam Wollschlager, Cody Drake, Kelly Wollschlager, and Riley Wollschlager.

Honorary bearers will be Kay’s remaining grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Kathryn (Kay) Adelman Wollschlager was born on December 1, 1936, along with twin sister, Wanda, at the Ortonville Hospital. She was the daughter of Jerome and Erna (Abramowski) Adelman. Kay grew up in the Rosen, Mn area. She attended St. Joseph School for seven years and one year at country school in South Dakota. She graduated from Bellingham High School in 1954.

Kay was employed at Prudential Insurance Company in Minneapolis, MN for three years. She married Edward Wollschlager on June 8, 1957 at St. Joseph’s Church in Rosen. They settled on farms in the Nassau/Revillo area where they raised nine children. Kay attended church in Revillo for several years and attended St. James Church in Nassau where she was a religious education teacher for 18 years. Kay and Ed moved to Milbank in 2014. She has been a resident of St. William’s Care Center for the past year. Ed died on April 14, 2017.

Kay was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, attending many of their sporting events and school activities. She also enjoyed baking endless pans of cinnamon rolls for her family. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and canning. Kay captured memories by taking lots of pictures and journaling.

Kay Wollschlager is survived by her children: Greg (Teresa) Wollschlager of Revillo, SD; Lori (Kyle) Helm of Cleveland, ND; Karen (John) Loeschke of Milbank, SD; Brenda (Blake) Sime of Revillo, SD; Brian (Janelle) Wollschlager of LaBolt, SD; Mark (Laurie) Wollschlager of Revillo, SD; Mary (Robert) Drake of Fergus Falls, MN; Tim (Stacy) Wollschlager of Revillo, SD; Robert (Kristin) Wollschlager of LaBolt, SD; 27 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; siblings: LaVonne Schuelke, Velma Wollschlager, Wanda Schuelke, Adrian Adelman, Sharon Welberg, Ruthie Schuelke, Donna Schell, Carol Ruth, Dale Adelman, Ken Adelman, and Beverly Kuefler.
