Lucille “Lucy” Marie Sime, age 81, resident of Revillo, SD, died on February 17, 2018, at Milbank Area Hospital – Avera Health. Services will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Revillo. Rev. Keith Smith will officiate. Burial will take place in the Revillo Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 22 from 5-7 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church, one hour prior to the funeral service.

Casket bearers will be: Adam Sime, Aaron Sime, Nathan Sime, Nicholas Sime, Natasha Sime, Justin Sime, Josh Sime, Bryce Schafer, Saycia Sime, Waylin Sime, Andee Sime, Boyd Sime, and Huxton Sime.

Honorary bearers will be: Members of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Revillo Legion Auxiliary Ladies, and all of Lucy’s friends.

Lucille “Lucy” Marie (Hiepler) Sime was born on May 24, 1936, in Marietta, MN. She was the daughter of Otto and Mary (Boehnke) Hiepler. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Arena Township near Madison, MN.

Lucy attended country school at District 77 for eight years and graduated from Madison High School in 1954. She worked at Lily Mills in Marietta, MN. She attended the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis, MN, graduating from the Private Secretarial Course and was employed at Graybar Electric.

On Sept 21, 1957, Lucy was united in marriage with Stuart Sime at Zion Lutheran Church in rural Madison, MN. To this union, three sons were born: Blake, Blair and Brian.

Lucy was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, always volunteering and serving others. She served on the Church Council and was involved in the Church Women’s Organization. She was also an active member of the Revillo Legion Auxiliary and South Dakota Rural Carriers Auxiliary and was honored to serve as their president for several years.

In her free time, Lucy enjoyed bowling, golfing and playing any kind of card game. She was a loyal Minnesota sports fan, cheering on the Twins, Vikings and Timberwolves. She also loved to watch golf tournaments. She enjoyed traveling with Stuart. They loved to escape to Florida, Texas, and Arizona during the winter months.

Lucy was a loving grandmother and enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s school activities and sporting events. She enjoyed gathering with her birthday club gals, making peach pie for pie day, and having a cup of coffee anywhere or anytime with friends and family.

Lucy was a very warm and loving person, mom, grandma and friend. She will be missed but is now in a wonderful place.

Left to cherish her memory are her three sons and daughters-in-law: Blake and Brenda Sime of Revillo, SD; Blair and Peggy Sime of Cottage Grove, MN; Brian and Debb Sime of Revillo; SD; seven grandchildren; Adam Sime, Nathan (Rebecca) Sime, Justin (Shiloy) Sime, Nicholas (Erin) Sime, Josh (Cheyenne) Sime, Aaron (fiancé Brieana Anderson) Sime and Natasha Sime; six great-grandchildren: Bryce Schafer, Saycia Sime, Waylin Sime, Andee Sime, Boyd Sime, and Huxton Sime; brother, Virgil (Margaret) Hiepler of Marietta, MN; and sister-in-law, Arlis Mares of Wenachee, WA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stuart Sime; and brother, Marvin Hiepler.
