The Milbank Area Bulldogs wrapped up their regular season with a 71-49 loss to the Madison Bulldogs. The traditional Battle of the Bulldogs was played Friday, February 23, on the road.

Milbank trailed by just two points at 14-12 after one quarter of play. Things dramatically took a turn in the second period, as Milbank struggled to produce points while Madison poured in 21. The score sat at 35-18 at the midway mark.

Milbank outscored Madison by six points in the third quarter, but remained behind at 47-36 heading into the final stanza. Madison fired in 24 points in the final quarter; Milbank added just 13. Milbank Area took the loss at 71-49.

Jonny Ash led Milbank with 15 points, one rebound, one assist, and five steals. Max McCulloch and Jake Fox contributed 11 points each. McCulloch had seven rebounds and one steal. Fox added two boards and one steal. Also adding to the totals for Milbank were Mitch Quade, three points, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals; Tate Stricherz, three points and one assist; James Weber, two points and one rebound; Braden Brandriet, two points; Jordan Riley, one point and four rebounds; and Derrick Aho, one point and five assists.

Milbank went 18-of-44 from the field for 41 percent shooting. They ended the game with 23 rebounds, nine assists, and nine steals. They committed 20 turnovers.

Madison made 53 percent of their shots from the field – 30 of 57 attempts. They won the game with 31 rebounds, 22 assists, and 15 steals. They committed 12 turnovers.
