Rosemary Wood

Rosemary L. Wood, age 83, resident of Beardsley, MN, passed away on February 22, 2018. Services will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Graceville, MN. Rev. Eugene Andrus will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service. Inurnment will take place at a later date.

Honorary bearers will be all of Rosemary’s grandchildren.

Rosemary Lavonne (Lindner) Wood was born on January 31, 1935, in Gothanburg, Nebraska. She was the daughter of Adolph and Ida (Estendorf) Lindner. She was confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Dumont, MN. She later graduated from Graceville High School in 1953.

Rosemary was united in marriage with Robert Charles Wood on February 1, 1958. Together they were blessed with 45 years of marriage. They resided in Nebraska where they had sons Jay and Scott. They then moved to Graceville, MN, and were blessed with three more children: Todd, Terry, and Kim.

Rosemary worked at the Toqua Café, Grace Home Nursing Home as a dietary cook, and at the Good Samaritan Center before finally retiring. She was a faithful member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church, serving with the Ladies’ Aid. She enjoyed quilting and would donate quilts to nursing homes, churches, charities and homeless shelters.

In her free time, Rosemary enjoyed completing crossword puzzles, playing board and card games, and gardening. She especially liked tending to her roses. She would go camping, and frequently have neighbor kids tag along. She was a warm person, treating everyone like they were part of her family. She would open her home to friends and neighbors. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Rosemary would light up the room wherever she went.

Rosemary is survived by her children: Jay (Rita) Wood; Scott (Becky) Wood; Todd (Sara) Wood; Terry (Nicole) Wood; and Kim (Kevin) Johnson; grandchildren: Danny Hodges, Grace Wood, Noah Wood, Cole Wood, Megan (friend, Matt) Wood, Emma Wood, Robert Wood, Taylor Wood, Mason Wood, Kara (friend, Patrick) Wood, Kaylee Wood, Kaleb Wood, Kassie Wood, and Katrina Johnson; great-grandchildren: Christian Hodges, Clayton Hodges, Cajabriel Hodges, Cody Hodges, Cayden Hodges, Paisley Wood, Bentley Cichos, Hudson Cichos; sister, Joan Guerts; brother-in-law: Gary (Beverly) Wood; sisters-in-law: Mary Lou (George) Wiruth; and Lois Linder; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; and brother, Cobie Linder.
