The Milbank Area basketball team suffered a second-round defeat to Sisseton in the Round I Tournament on March 2, in Sisseton. Coach Logan Diede had this to say about his team, “They battled all year and competed their hearts out for this program from start to finish. We would’ve loved to get the win and keep playing, but the progress and momentum the program generated this season is invaluable for the future. ”

Jonny Ash sparked the Bulldogs with 23 points. He also made five rebounds and one steal. Derrick Aho added seven points, one rebound, and three assists. Max McCulloch made six points, two rebounds, and one assist. Jake Fox had four points and four rebounds. Mitch Quade added three points, two rebounds, two assists, and one steal. James Weber made two points and two rebounds. Milbank Area completed 15-of-45 shots from the field for 33 percent. Sisseton shot 46 percent – hitting 26-of-56.

The Bulldogs trailed 15-9 at the end of the first period and remained behind 24-19 at the half. Sisseton expanded its lead in the third by pumping in 23 points. Heading into the fourth quarter. Milbank Area lagged behind at 47-32 and could not find an answer. They took the loss at 45-61.

Milbank Area completed 15 of 45 shots from the field for 33 percent. Sisseton shot 46 percent – hitting 26-of-56.
