Joseph Van Hout, age 76, of Milbank, SD, died Monday, March 12, 2018, at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank. Father Gary DeRouchey will officiate and burial will be in the St. Lawrence Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Tim Mundwiler will be the musician.
Joseph Francis Van Hout was born on June 1, 1941, in Milbank, SD. He was the son of August H. and Pearl Olive (Smith) Van Hout. Joseph was a life-long resident of Grant County. He was united in marriage with Diane Folk on October 22, 1960. Joseph worked as a loader operator for Grant County and later was the janitor at Grant Deuel School in Revillo. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Joseph loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.
Left to cherish his memory are his four children: Myron (Laurie) Van Hout of Wilmot, SD; Joseph (Jane) Van Hout of Salem, SD; Darwin Van Hout of Milbank, SD; and Lori (Jim) Adler of Woodland Park, CO; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters: Lucille (Albert) Folk of Milbank, SD; Mary Whiting of Milbank, SD; brother, Jerry (Joyce) Van Hout of Milbank, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, siblings: Donna Van Hout, Rosella Hermans, Annabell Kasuske, Ken Van Hout, and Antone Van Hout.
