The 3rd Biennial 4-H Bike Rodeo and Safety Day is Friday, May 25, at the Grant County 4-H Grounds. Registration runs from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. The event is free. Kindergarten through fifth grade students are invited to participate. Two bicycles will be given away courtesy of the ShopKo Foundation and the Knights of Columbus.

Plans also include: bike licensing, free fittings of bike helmets, an obstacle course, a fun ride, ambulance tours, a bike safety, coloring contest, and free lunch. Door prizes will be awarded. Participants receive a free t-shirt.

The event is a cooperative effort of Grant County 4-H, Milbank City Police, Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Grant-Roberts Ambulance Service, Milbank Area Hospital – Avera, and the South Dakota Highway Patrol. Members of the Junior Busy Bees 4-H Club including William Karels (chairman), Benett Street, Hope Karels, Madi Loeschke, and Cailey Sime planned the rodeo and safety day.
