James “Jimmy” Paul Grabow, age 87, of Milbank died May 30, 2018, at the Sioux Falls VA Hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 10:30am at the Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank. Visitation will take place from 5pm to 7pm on Monday, June 4, 2018 at the funeral home. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Tuesday. Interment will be in the Milbank City Cemetery.

James Paul Grabow was born on February 9, 1931 in Milbank, SD to Paul and Marie (Buttke) Grabow. James served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was stationed on the USS New Jersey (BB-62) and earned several service medals. He was honorably discharged in 1954.

Jimmy was a gifted machinist and worked in California at Douglas Aircraft for many years along with many other machinery companies. He later returned to South Dakota and worked at Dakota Machine Works in Corona. James enjoyed attending small farm auctions; He loved buying and selling anything he could. He would call up a couple of his friends and take them along to auctions or sales that were a distance from Milbank.

James is survived by his siblings: Janet White of Buntstown, FL, Elton Grabow, Jerry Grabow, and Keith (Diane) Grabow all of Milbank, SD; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other family members.

Preceding him in death are his parents; siblings: Marlo Grabow, Harold Grabow, and Gloria (Dale) Schell; and brother-in-law, Ralph White.
