Edward Francis Folk, age 89, of Milbank, SD, died June 2, 2018, at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Milbank. Visitation will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. and will continue one hour before services on Thursday. A rosary and prayer vigil will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Burial will take place at the St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.

Edward Francis Folk was born on June 11, 1928, in Milbank, SD, to Stephen and Barbara (Giessinger) Folk. Edward grew up near Corona, SD and attended rural school at Geneseo #4, in Roberts County.

On November 20, 1947, Ed was united in marriage with Gladys McCulloch at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Milbank and together, were blessed with six children. Ed and Gladys relocated to Watertown, SD, for a short while before returning to farm near Corona in 1948. They moved to a farm 4.5 miles north of Milbank in 1969 and have resided there since.

Ed was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus for over 50 years, served as secretary of the Township Board for many years, was a DRA member, and enjoyed helping with the Tootsie Roll drive. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, milking cows, gardening, loved tinkering on the farm, and was an avid Twins & Vikings fan. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 70 years, Gladys; his children: Glenn (Barb) Folk of Milbank, Linda (David) Pauli of Milbank, Duane (Gail) Folk of Milbank, and Renae Espland of Milbank; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; siblings: Leo (Betty) Folk of Milbank, SD; Jeanette Spahr of Milbank, SD; Mary Whiting of Milbank, SD; Rose Lewno of Oregon; Teresa Hyatt of Milbank, SD; Elvina (Arvid) Boerger of Twin Brooks, SD; Eugene (Deanna) Folk of Corona, SD; Barbara Graham of Colorado; Donald (Shirley) Folk of Corona, SD; and Angela (Rusty) Davis of Las Vegas, NV; and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two children: Warren Folk and Steven Folk; grandson, Erik Folk; and siblings: Helen Wibeto; Lillian Jorgenson, Florence Jankord, Lucille Rademacher, Charles Folk, Diane VanHout, and Albert Folk.
