The 2018 Elite Alliance Summer Volleyball Camp in Watertown features Tiara Gibson, Marcelina (Glab) Gilbertson, Haley Smith, and Rayleigh Petersen. Gibson and Gilbertson are considered two of the best volleyball players to come out of South Dakota.
Tiara Gibson is a middle hitter who played two years for the SDSU Jackrabbits before transferring to LSU. She was named to the UCF Classic All-Tournament team in 2014. Tiara played high school volleyball for the Deuel Cardinals where she amassed 707 kills, 416 digs, 321 blocks, and 143 service aces.
Marcelina (Glab) Gilbertson, a former South Dakota Volleyball Player of the Year, competed at Washington State for four years. She accumulated 368 block assists, the third most in WSU history, and 408 total blocks, which ranked sixth. In 2013, she also played with the Pac-12 All-Star team in China. During high school she was a Watertown Arrow and set a school record of 1,024 kills, 5.1 kills per set, 292 blocks, and 519 digs. Marcella was chosen for the national Under Armour All-American honorable mention team and as South Dakota “AA” Miss Volleyball.
