Superintendent Tim Graf reports total enrollment this year in the Milbank School District tops 1000 students.  In kindergarten through 12th grade, there are 989 students and an additional 17 Bulldogs attend preschool. Graf said, “It breaks down to 429 elementary students, 236 at the middle school, and 324 at the high school. The number also reflects 70 new students entering the district.”
 
The Valley Express caught up with Amy Brandriet, Koch Elementary Principal, in front of the school as she welcomed all the students with a high-five and a big smile to the parents. Brandriet said, “The first day of school is one of my favorite days! It is great to personally greet all the students.” Brandriet, had the job of finding room for more grade-schoolers than last year and said she is looking forward to an exciting year.
