Milbank Triumphs Over Sisseton

The MHS girls’ volleyball team faced Sisseton on Thursday, September 6, in Milbank. The Lady Bulldogs won all three sets at 25-18, 25-18, and 25-13.

Senior Gabbi Cummins led Milbank with 14 kills and 16 attacks. Junior Jacey Engebretson contributed 11 kills and 17 assists. Senior Katie Wollschlager added eight digs and senior Anna Matthews made two solo blocks.

Coach Nancy Hoeke said, “In each of the sets, we were able to take an early lead and keep it rolling. Our hitters kept the pressure on by finding the open spots on the court and then mixing in some good powerful shots, too. I thought our blockers took away some of their confidence by always keeping their hands in Sisseton’s face.”
