Tuesday, September 11th saw the Bulldog Cross Country team traveling to Sioux Falls. Coach Eric Townsend thought the meet was a competitive one for both teams to attend, “I thought the Sioux Falls Christian Invite was another step in the right direction. The meet featured a number of high quality Class A teams in the state.  Quite a number of those teams and individuals will be on the awards stand at the end of the season. To place in the 20 as an individual in this meet, your effort was earned.”
The girls team ran six competitors on the Varsity level and running their way into that top 20 placement were Amaya Street at 17th and Taylor Thue at 19th. On the boys’ side, the team competed with five runners in the Varisty 5K and Nick Batchelor battled his way to 5th place overall for the team. “Both teams are battling some illnesses that hampered some of their performances.  Overall, we were pleased with the efforts and results from this meet.  We hope this type of meet helps continue to prepare us for the bigger meets later in the season,” Townsend added.
The next meet for the Bulldog Cross Country team is the LQPV Invite in Madison, MN, on Tuesday, September 18th.
