Lady Bulldog Volleyball Team Defeats Sioux Valley

The Lady Bulldogs Volleyball Team hit the road on Tuesday, September 18, to take on the Cossacks of Sioux Valley. Triumphant in three of four sets, 25-15, 27-25,16-25, and 25-13, Milbank put up the “W”.
“We came out strong in the first set and jumped out to a comfortable 20-6 lead.The second set was much closer and we made a line-up change to figure out how to deal with it. It was a wild ending after we fell behind 22-24. Gabbi (Cummins) stepped up with two kills to tie the score. She’s a gutsy player,” said Coach Nancy Hoeke. In set three, we were trying to get comfortable with our line-up change and just couldn’t get into the flow of the game. But, on set four, things fell into place.”
Makayla Johnson led the team with two solo blocks and Gabbi Cummins and Anna Mathews added one solo each. Johnson also made 11 kills, trailing just behind Cummins who was the leader in attacks with 14 kills. Cummins led in aces with four and Jaden Hoeke also jumped on the stat leaderboard with credit for three aces.
