The Milbank Volleyball team won three out of four sets on Thursday, October 11, when Britton-Hecla came to visit. Set scores were 25-12, 25-15, 22-25, and 25-13. Coach Nancy Hoeke said, “In three of the sets we played pretty well and controlled those sets. Britton-Hecla wasn’t pushing us too hard. The third set we really let down and couldn’t put together any substantial runs. Fortunately, in the fourth set, we came out strong and took care of business.”

Serving for the Lady Bulldogs was 86 percent, including seven aces – two from Jacey Engebretson. Engebretson was also the leader in attacks – nabbing 21 kills. Gabbi Cummins had 17 kills and Makayla Johnson had 13. Cummins led in assists with 28, followed by Engebretson with 23. Anna Mathews contributed the lone solo block. Engebretson, again led in digs with 14, followed by Katie Wollschlager with 13, and Cummins with 10.

The Lady Bulldogs take on Waverly/South Shore on Tuesday, October 16. Play starts at the Waverly gym at 7 p.m.
