The Lady Bulldogs tennis team held their end-of-season potluck awards dinner on October 16. The 2018 team set a new school record of 11 match wins in the regular season and will commemorate it with a plaque in the MHS lobby trophy case.

Halli Essington won the Gamer-Matchmaker Award for 201 games and 17 matches won. She was also the consolation champion at the 2018 South Dakota State Tennis Meet at No. 1 singles.

Hattie Muellenbach and Halli Essington, both at No. 1, won the Dynamic Duo – Doubles Awards with 185 games and 15 matches won. Rookie of the Year went to Kayla Bury for her varsity doubles wins at No. 3 and seven wins at No. 7 singles.

Rhianna Welberg was awarded the Leadership Award. Rhianna organized the new team uniforms and team attire such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies. She also took on the leadership role of leading practice warm-ups at home and away.

The Off-Season Effort Award went to Hattie Muellenbach. Hattie took lessons and attended Tennis and Life Camp, Match Pointe Tournaments, CC Lee and Augustana tournaments. She also participated in numerous doubles, skills, and singles events.

Varsity certificates were presented to: Halli Essington, Rhianna Cantine, Rhianna Welberg, Hattie Muellenbach, Jenna Johnson, Alexis Ninneman, and Kayla Bury. Junior high certificates went to: Aubrey Fraasch, Hope Karels, Lydia Street, and Ava Wienk.
