The MHS oral interp team competed at the NSU Invitational on the Northern State University campus in Aberdeen. According to MHS Head Oral Interp Coach, Natasha Karels, “The top six competitors in each round made it to the finals. Milbank brought home the second place trophy coming in just behind Mobridge at first place.”

Caitlin Kroemer won first place in the poetry division and second in humor. Lars Andersen and Hope Osborn took first place in the duo category. The Readers Theater comprised of Lars Andersen, Landon Brown, Hope Osborn, and Peyten Wiese also earned first place. Mackenzie Michels compiled points for the team in humor, Peyten Wiese and Hailey Hupke in the serious division, and Kylee Mogan and Monserrat Meraz in non-original oratory.

All together, Mobridge came in first at the Invitational. Milbank tied with Aberdeen Central for second place.

Three members of the team also competed in Brookings on October 22, at the Brookings Fall Fest. Caitlin Kroemer earned a superior-plus in poetry and a superior in humor, and in non-original oratory, Kylee Mogan earned a superior and Monserrat Meraz was awarded an excellent.
